Automatic Login

I'm not exactly sure why you'd want to do this. It's asked often enough so that it's only natural to include this information (You ask? We deliver). We might not really think what you're about to do is a very good idea — but, well, if it's something you're absolutely sure you want to do then who are we to stop you? Heck, we'll even give you directions.

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Click Run
  3. Type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes
  4. Click the OK button (OR press your Enter key)
  5. UNTICK the box that says "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
  6. Click Apply
  7. Enter in the user name you want to use as default
  8. Enter in the password twice
  9. Click the OK button

Now, I'm not really sure why, but it wouldn't be the first time someone has come back to and said, "It didn't work" — Well, it does. Follow the steps in order. Do NOT forget steps 7 and 8, or it will NOT work! Countless other people have done this, and it worked just fine for them.

If you're having troubles, then join us in the G3 Forum and ask questions and we'll talk you through it — but really, it works like a champ... Just follow the directions, we wouldn't lie about this stuff.
