Disable Error Reporting

An application crashed and now wants you to send an error report to Microsoft®. You are, for one reason or another, tired of sending the reports. Can you stop this? Of course you can.

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Click Run
  3. Type sysdm.cpl
  4. Click the OK button
  5. In the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab
  6. Click the Error Reporting button
  7. In the Error Reporting window, select "Disable error reporting"
  8. Place a check in the box that says "But notify me when critical errors occur" (You really WANT to do that)
  9. Click OK
  10. Then in the System Properties window click the OK button
  11. Continue computing without the hassle of the error reporting function

Note: This is something that it's okay to disable but repeated errors are a sign of a problem. (this is why it is important to do step 8 in the above proceedure - so you know when errors occur). If you have a problem with errors cropping up and want to stop them to ensure stable and efficient computing you should consider asking for help in the G³ Forum.
