Show File Attributes Column and More
Do you remember the good old days when you could actually see the attributes for a file while browsing a directory in Windows Explorer? Well you can do that and a whole lot more in Windows XP.
- Open Windows Explorer to any desired folder...
- except "My Computer" - you can't do the following in there.
- In "Details" view (View > Details)
- Right-click the top catagory bar, where it says "Name" - "Size" - "Type" - etc
- Click "Attributes"

More Details
As an alternative you can click on the "More..." option. This will enable you to select additional details to display:
Now if you like what you've done, be sure to set the folder to remember how you have it.
- Select Tools > Folder Options...
- In the "Folder Options" dialog box click the "View" tab
- Under "Advanced settings:" scroll down...
- Check "Remember each folder's view settings"
