Disable QoS Bandwidth Limitation
For Windows XP Professional Only

To disable the bandwidth limitation of the networking feature QoS (Quality of Service) simply follow the instructions listed below. Note these instructions are only for Windows XP Professional (being that the Group Policy Editor is not part of XP Home Edition).

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Click Run...
  3. Type gpedit.msc
  4. Click OK
  5. In the Group Policy Editor click on Computer Configuration
  6. Click on Administrative Templates
  7. Click on Network
  8. Click on QoS Packet Scheduler
  9. Click on Limit Reserve Bandwidth
  10. Set it to Enabled
  11. Below it set the Bandwidth limit (%) value to 0 (zero)
  12. Click OK and close the Group Policy Editor
  13. Reboot to have the changes take effect
