Showing Hidden Files

There are all sorts of hidden files and folders all over your PC. If you don't feel as if you're an advanced user then you probably should leave them hidden so that you don't move or delete them by accident. However, there may come a time when you need to see them and this is how it's done.

  1. Open "My Computer" or just bring up Windows Explorer
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Click "Folder Options..."
  4. Click the View tab
  5. Under "Hidden files and folders" select "Show hidden files and folders"
  6. Uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types"
  7. Uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" and agree to the warning
    Like so...
  8. Click OK
